Ole Ray’s Blackberry Wine Barbecue and Cooking Sauce Review
Ole Ray’s Blackberry Wine Barbecue and Cooking Sauce – Lord, give me mercy. That’s what I said when I opened this bottle and put a spoonful of this in my mouth. This is fine dining, gourmet, Heaven-on Earth eating. The chicks will moan, the guys will say, “Oh yeah.” I’m not exaggerating. You’ll find reasons to cook with this stuff.
Is it a great barbecue sauce? Yep. But it’s so much more than that. Ole Ray has managed to whip up a batch of Nirvana in a bottle. It starts with blackberry jelly (that’s what I said), corn syrup, sugar, and fruit pectin. There’s also some tomato puree. Add to that some vinegar, worcestershire sauce, mustard seed, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and a bunch of other essentials, then cap it off with fine aged red peppers, and you have a sauce that defies any category.
To start with, I used half a bottle of Ole Ray’s Blackberry Wine Barbecue and Cooking Sauce on baby back ribs. Needless to say, the pairing was a match made in Heaven. I did that on the Fourth of July. The next day I made a beef stew with the rest of it. Dumped this sauce right into the stew and simmered it for a couple of hours. The flavor of the sauce mingled with the beef of the stew sauce. I filled a big bowl, made a tossed salad, and buttered some hot rolls for a dining experience in my kitchen I’ll never forget. My mouth is watering at the thought of it, but unfortunately, the stew is long gone.
Grab a bottle of Ole Ray’s Blackberry Wine Barbecue and Cooking Sauce for all sorts of cooking purposes. It’s sweet and full of flavor.
