Mountain Man Roasted Corn, Garlic & Chipotle Sauce Review
This sauce was a hit the moment I opened the bottle. First of all, getting it out of my wife’s hands was a challenge. She absolutely loves Mountain Man Roasted Corn, Garlic & Chipotle Sauce. I can’t blame her. I always love a good chipotle sauce; Mountain Man has figured out how to blend flavors beyond compare.
This is not the first Mountain Man sauce I’ve tried. One of the key things I enjoy about Mountain Man sauces is the way the ingredients are selected to play off one another in a well balanced symphony of taste (yep, I used a cheesy metaphor, but who cares, right?).
The star of this sauce is the chipotle peppers. The smoky taste of the chipotle is enhanced by the addition of apple cider, molasses, and brown sugar. While those sweeter elements provide a nice backdrop for the chipotle, they don’t overwhelm or take away the smoky flavor.
I especially like Mountain Man Roasted Corn, Garlic & Chipotle Sauce in ham and beans, some soups, and on my grilled steaks. The smoked pepper flavor is ideal for these dining applications. My wife is a little less specific. She uses it on everything from pizza to eggs.
The flow of the Mountain Man Roasted Corn, Garlic & Chipotle Sauce is medium thick, with lots of little pieces of roasted corn, garlic, and chipotle, just like the name promises. The roasted corn is a great touch, and although its flavor doesn’t make a strong appearance, I can taste it in the undercurrent and appreciate the added flavor value.
There’s no real heat to the sauce, but there is a tingling bite that lingers. It’s a flavorful heat that isn’t meant to burn the tongue. That would contradict the purpose of this sauce.
Mountain Man sauces are crafted for flavor. Every once in a while, a sauce will come along that deserves to be referred to as a work of art, and the two Mountain Man sauces I’ve tasted both deserve that distinction. It’s obvious a lot of care goes into taking traditional flavors and putting new spins on those flavors. I’m pretty sure the people who make this sauce do a lot tasting, and it shows in the final product.
Mountain Man sauces are going to be a regular feature on my shelf from now on.
