Mexican Hot Sauce Recipe


  • 3 large tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tsp garlic crushed
  • 1 tsp dry mustard powder
  • 2 whole red chillies
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp curry powder or hot chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 4 ¼ fl oz water
  • salt to taste


  1. Heat the oil in a frying pan, and add the garlic and onions.Gently fry until the onions are tender.
  2. When the onions are nice and tender, add all the other ingredients to the mix.Cover the pan and simmer until the tomatoes are fully cooked.
  3. Add the water to the mixture and bring to a boil, for 2 tot 3 minutes.
  4. Once everything is fully cooked, place the mixture in a blender and blend till smooth.Finally, pass the mixture through a sieve for extra smoothness.
