Magma Hot Sauce Review

Magma Hot Sauce – Very interesting packaging concept. I love the different creative ways hot sauces come. Magma Hot Sauce is in a primarily clear bottle that lets you see what’s going on inside. There’s a graphic on the front of the bottle that shows you what looks like a huge drop of blood spreading out across the bottle. That’s exactly what’s going on inside the bottle, only what looks like a thick pool of blood is actually capsaicin, the chemical compound in the pepper that makes it bur like hell. In Magma, the capsaicin floats in a bottle of clear liquid, daring you to shake this sauce up and give it a try.

You definitely have to shake. You don’t want to taste what’s floating at the top without mixing it into the rest of the liquid. If you do, you will find yourself in a world of pain.

The capsaicin is oil based and floats in vinegar. With the exception of a little salt, that’s all you’ve got coming between you and the mean stuff contained herein. As the Magma Hot Sauce bottle reads, “An eruption of disastrous proportions.” If you aren’t careful, that’s exactly what you’ll get.

I don’t recommend using this sauce casually. In fact, regardless of how experienced you are with heat, I recommend against using Magma Hot Sauce casually. This stuff is over the edge. It will take you to another dimension. I have used it exactly three times. One of those times was in soup. I put too much in (and by too much, I mean three tiny drops). I ate the soup, folks, but I felt every bite. The second time was a single drop in a bowl of leftover chili. It did my chili good; I still felt the aftermath. The third time I used it was as a kick-up to my steak sauce. It worked well with the steak sauce, heat and all. I barely used half a drop.

If you like heat, grab a bottle of Magma Hot Sauce, but truth be told, you might want to set this one on the shelf next to Satan’s Blood and call it a keepsake.
