Learn How to Make Hot Pepper Sauce

Hot pepper sauce is a staple item in many households and cultures.  There are literally thousands of different brands out there for you to try but it’s hard to find the perfect one for you and your family. We all want our own signature flavor.  Heck, you may be an aspiring Hot Sauce chef!

So, you can easily make your own homemade hot pepper sauce by following the below recipe. This is a great recipe for those of you with backyard gardens and who grow your own hot peppers.

6 Habanero peppers, chopped
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 1/3 cups of white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon fresh lime juice

In a large frying pan heat up the olive oil over medium heat and stir in the chopped Habanero peppers and minced garlic. Simmer for 4-5 minutes or until peppers have softened up a bit. Stir in the tomato paste and 1 cup of the white vinegar and simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring often. Pour in the rest of the white vinegar, salt, ground black pepper and the fresh lime juice. Continue to simmer the ingredients for 5 minutes, stirring often.

Once done let it cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes and then pour into an airtight container and refrigerate it…it should keep for up to 4 days if refrigerated after cooking it.

This is a recipe that you can try and tweak to your own liking.  You may want to let it sit for a few days before using it so the flavors all meld together.  The basic recipes like this are great for changing to your liking.  With some additions here and there, you can produce an awesome hot pepper sauce that is perfect or wings or ribs or your favorite egg dish.
