Habanero Hot Pepper Sauce Recipe

The Habanero pepper is favorite choice of many pepper lovers because of its delicate fruity and almost citrus flavor. It has a decent heat level that brings a lot of flavor but nothing that is going to scorch you. It normally registers between 200,000-300,000 on the SHU. Hot sauce made from the Habanero has good flavor and here is a recipe that really enhances the fruit flavor of the pepper along with orange.

Habanero Hot Sauce Recipe

3 large tomatoes, chopped
2 large Habanero chili peppers, chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1/3 to 1/4 cup water
3 teaspoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Place chopped tomatoes, chili peppers and minced garlic into a blender container and process for 30-45 seconds until smooth. Strain mixture through a cheese cloth to remove seeds and membranes. In a large saucepan combine the blender mixture with the remaining ingredients and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat and let cool. You can use your sauce right away or refrigerate for up to one week.
