These Fork ’N Halo sauces never fail to please. The Fork ’N Halo Heavenly Hickory, as the name implies, features the great taste of hickory smoke. Couple that with the traditionally sweet notes of all Fork ’N Halo sauces and you get something that works.

Ribs are one of my favorite foods. I slathered some of Fork ’N Halo Heavenly Hickory BBQ Sauce over a sample of beef and pork ribs just about five minutes before they were finished cooking. The sauce cooked to a beautiful consistency and the meat absorbed the smoky-sweet goodness, delivering a barbecue rib experience that reminded me of a little BBQ shack I ran across in Louisiana. This shack belonged to an old black guy who smoked meat in his backyard in big black iron pits. He sold the barbecue all day long, to those who knew of his existence. His business wasn’t wasn’t for profit. Actually, he specialized in barbecued gator, but he did beef and pork as well. He did it mainly because he loved barbecue. He had a limited clientele. I found him by word of mouth. I’ve since to taste barbecue like his, but this Fork ’N Halo Heavenly Hickory BBQ Sauce took me there again. The savory, mouth-watering goodness of this sauce is worthy of a trophy. I can pour it on a spoon and eat it all day.

When you run across good barbecue sauce, you want the world to know about it. Fork ’N Halo sauces are truly masterpieces in sauce design. They have an Original Sin and a Fire and Brimstone that will set you on your head with how good they are.

While the hickory is the key here, other ingredients play an important role. There’s cane juice, apple juice, garlic, kosher salt, black pepper, mustard powder, and smoked Spanish paprika. There’s also red wine vinegar and honey. Chipotle peppers round it all out, doing a dance with the hickory to give the smokiness of this sauce its own smoky character. Fork ’N Halo sauces have a front and center location on my shelf. I like the Fire and Brimstone version of the sauce best, simply because the heat is there and makes a fine companion to the sweet, but this one runs a close second.
