Some folk love the taste of spicy pepper in their foods so much they are now adding spice to their side dishes. Perking up a boring old head of broccoli or spinach is pretty simple to do and it really adds a spark to your meal. Why eat boring foods if you don’t have to? It just takes a minute to create a recipe with some punch to it!

This is a beautiful side dish or even a main meal packed full of flavor and color! By adding a few shots of your favorite hot sauce, you have brought it from bland and boring to delicious! Check out this recipe for some spicy red peppers and broccoli that you can enjoy with your next meal.

Spicy Peppers & Broccoli Side Dish Recipe

6 cups broccoli, chopped
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/3 cup red pepper, finely diced
handful fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
4-5 drops hot sauce (your favorite brand)

Steam the broccoli to soft and tender. Drain and set aside. In a large saucepan melt the butter and toss in the chopped red pepper, chopped parsley, salt, ground black pepper and 4 to 5 drops of hot sauce. (hot sauce depends on how spicy you like your food). Saute the sauce over medium heat for 4-5 minutes or until red pepper is fork tender. Remove from heat.

Place steamed broccoli into a large serving bowl and pour the cooked sauce over top. Toss together using tongs and serve immediately.

Have you ever heard of Thin BBQ Sauce? Depending on the region of the US you are from, it could also be called a mop sauce or wet sauce maybe even a marinade. Regardless of what you may call it, thin BBQ sauces are popular in many areas of the country and they all have certain ways of preparing it that is consistent with their region.

For instance, in the Kansas City area, you would not hear of a thin BBQ sauce. But if you were in the eastern parts of North Carolina, you would have it on your table as a staple ingredient with all of your meals practically.

The Thin sauces are great as they will soak into the meat rather than just lying on the top like a traditional thick BBQ sauce. Many cooks use these thin sauces with a mop while cooking and marinate the meat before grilling or smoking too so the meat is permeated with the sauce and flavor..

Here is an easy to make homemade thin BBQ sauce recipe that you can make your own by easily adding spice in the form of your favorite chili peppers or hot peppers or you can use it as is and adjust the sweetness level to your delight.

This recipe is great with pork butt, ribs, pulled pork, brisket, poultry or whatever your heart desires. Super easy to make and try today.

Homemade Thin BBQ Sauce Recipe

2 cups Big Bob Gibson Champion Red BBQ Sauce or Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce
1 cup Cider Vinegar
1 cup Apple Juice
1/4 to 1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar (according to your sweetness taste)

Combine all of the above ingredients in a large saucepan and simmer over medium heat, stirring often for 5-7 minutes. Use immediately or let it cool and store it in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

We know about your love affair with chili peppers and how hot you love your food. It is no secret to us. With that said, we also know how much you love trying new spicy flavors on your food. When it comes to Asian food, some of the spiciest peppers and sauces are the simplest ones. Here is a recipe that you may want to try for some Homemade Vietnamese Hot Chili Sauce that may knock your socks off.

If you do make this, make sure to handle the chili peppers with gloves on so that you prevent skin irritation or burns from the capsaicin oil. This is a very easy recipe that you will like if you like your chili sauces hot!

Homemade Vietnamese Hot Chili Sauce Recipe

17 large dry roasted red chili peppers
4 large cloves garlic, minced
1 cup rice vinegar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Remove the stems from the red chili peppers, remove the seeds and then chop them. Place the chopped red chili peppers, minced garlic, rice vinegar, water, salt, ground black pepper and granulated sugar in a large blender container or you can also use a food processor. Process the sauce mixture on medium speed for 2 minutes or until smooth. Place the blender container into the refrigerator for 4-6 hours to allow it to chill and for the flavors to infuse.

If you are not a fan of vinegar based hot sauces, then we have one that you will want to try called Dat’l Pepper Sauce. The official name is Dat’l Do-It but you will also find people referring to it as Datyl pepper sauce. Whatever you call it, you will certainly want to give it a try.

This pepper sauce is not a vinegar based sauce but rather a rich tomato based sauce that has a lightly sweet background due to the clover honey they use to blend with the spicy hot Datil peppers. This sauce was created by the company for use in their seafood restaurant in Florida called Barnacle Bills. So it is delicious on any type of shrimp, oysters, crabs, clams and seafood all together.

Other great uses are limited only by your imagination. Think Tacos, Omelets, Hot Wings, Guacamole, Chili Beans, Salsas and more. It is a lovely hot sauce to use as a side dipping sauce or use it in place of any of your favorite BBQ sauce. The Dat’l Pepper Sauce does have a nice spicy heat to it so it is not a wimpy heat by any means, but it will not too hot to handle either.

If you are experimenting and looking for a great flavored pepper hot sauce, put Dat’ls sauce on your list. Insane Chicken has some right here waiting for you to try out.

When we think of beef ribs we often think of cooking them on the grill or in a slower cooker but this particular recipe is a delicious way to enjoy them too! With this recipe, the ribs are slow cooked in your conventional oven. They come out so good with a nice kick from the chili sauce!

If you like mild barbecued ribs, use only 3 tablespoons of chili sauce and if you like them with more of a spicy flavor, use 5 tablespoons of hot sauce.

Baked Baby Back Beef Barbecue Ribs Recipe

2 lbs. baby back beef ribs (uncooked)
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 to 5 tablespoons hot sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground dry mustard

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Rinse ribs off with water and place them into a baking dish. Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes. While the ribs are baking you want to prepare the sauce.

In a small mixing bowl combine together the vegetable oil, chili sauce, lemon juice, ground black pepper and dry mustard. Stir until all ingredients are well combined. Remove ribs from oven and brush the sauce all over them and pour the remaining sauce (after brushing) over the top. Place baking dish back into the oven and bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until the ribs are done. Remove and serve immediately. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator once they have cooled. You can reheat leftovers in the microwave on 50% power for 3 to 4 minutes.

There is nothing quite like the smell of a smoking rack of pork ribs on the grill. All of the amazing scent wafting through the air makes your stomach growl and you know it’s time for some awesome BBQ ribs very soon. For our pepper loving friends, you are going to enjoy this recipe we hve for your today. It is so right up your alley.

The Spicy BBQ Pork Ribs recipe combines the great flavor of barbeque sauce with the spicy kick of your favorite hot sauce and then takes it to a new level with a nice heat from some horseradish. If you like your ribs a bit spicier you can increase the hot pepper sauce.

It is a quick sauce you can mix up and either roast in the oven or enjoy BBQing outside.

Spicy BBQ Pork Ribs Recipe

2 lbs. pork spare ribs
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/3 cup orange marmalade
1-2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce (your favorite brand)
2 teaspoon horseradish
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Season the pork ribs with the salt and ground black pepper, place them into a deep roasting pan. In a medium sized mixing bowl combine together the barbecue sauce, orange marmalade, hot pepper sauce and horseradish. Whisk together the sauce ingredients until well blended. Pour sauce over the ribs. Place roaster pan into a preheated 350 degree oven and bake for 45-55 minutes or until done.

If using with a grill outside, brush it or mop it on your ribs about 10-15 minutes before taking them off of the grill so they do not burn.

There are many areas in Mexico and especially New Mexico that use a green tomato base recipe for their hot sauce. These green hot sauce recipes are delicious as they are full of flavor and very fresh tasting. Here is an easy to prepare green sauce recipe that you can whip up using tomatillos that should be available readily in your local grocery store.

You will need 1 1/2 lbs. Tomatillos that have been roasted in the oven or boiled in water on stove top before proceeding with the rest of the recipe.

Green Hot Sauce Recipe

1 1/2 lbs. Tomatillos, roasted or boiled
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped or diced
1/2 cup fresh Cilantro, finely chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (not bottled)
1 to 1 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
2 Jalapeno peppers, stems & seeds removed, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

In a large blender container or food processor, combine together all of the above ingredients, including the roasted or boiled Tomatillos. Cover and process for 1-2 minutes or until mixture is well blended together. It should be a smooth but thick consistency. Keep the lid on the blender container and place into the refrigerator for 4-6 hours to allow it to chill and for the flavors to infuse. Serve as a condiment or dipping sauce with your favorite dippers
