Demon Pig Blaze Orange BBQ Sauce Review
Demon Pig Blaze Orange BBQ Sauce – The blue pig with the devil horns and tail on the label of Demon Pig Blaze Orange BBQ Sauce is one ugly specimen of swine. But all is forgiven, because the sauce inside the bottle is so good I feel like I could roll around in it like an oinker in a mud puddle. On second thought, that might be such a good idea since this sauce has some serious spice to it and that might irritate my gentle bits.
Of course, I’m a fan of the regular Demon Pig BBQ Sauce anyway, so when I saw “Blaze Orange” I was thinking “just as good, only better!” And I was right. Demon Pig Blaze Orange BBQ Sauce is a thick, richly colored sauce that contains both ketchup and tomato sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, onion and green pepper, yellow mustard and Worcestershire sauce, and hickory and smoke flavor. The “Blaze Orange” comes from the addition of citric acid and an unnamed “blend of spices”. Basically, every kind of flavor you’d want at a cookout is in this one bottle.
Even though there’s no actual orange in this sauce, the citric acid reveals itself instantly upon tasting. The blaze soon follows. But the whole combination of flavors is there in your mouth and it’s a very satisfying experience. No question, this sauce is sweet – while it does contain cider vinegar, it’s not a predominant flavor; this is no southern-style barbecue sauce. In fact, Demon Pig Blaze Orange BBQ Sauce is made in Minnesota. But the spice in it would keep you warm through the coldest winter.
Its thickness makes it good for large cuts of meat like steaks, chops, pork loins; just add it at the end because with all this tomato, it will burn if left on the grill for too long. Demon Pig insists that their barbecue sauces will replace your ketchup; considering that ketchup is the first ingredient listed, it’s not surprising that it could. Considering that it’s deliciously citrusy and tantalizingly spicy, it could replace just about every condiment in your fridge. But definitely bring it out to the grill. That demon pig may be ugly, but Demon Pig Blaze Orange BBQ Sauce is beautiful.
