Cherry BBQ Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups pitted and halved fresh sweet cherries
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 2 tablespoons sherry
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon cold water
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
- 3/4 teaspoon Dijon style mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
- Combine cherries, orange juice, sugar, orange peel, mustard and salt in a saucepan.
- Cover and simmer for about 5 minutes. In a small bowl, combine water and cornstarch and slowly stir into saucepan, stirring constantly.
- Continue simmering until the sauce thickens. Store for up to one week in the refrigerator. This sauce works great on chicken.
